چکیده

Phagnalon saxatile subsp. is a wild species widespread in Algeria which utilized for medicinal purposes as analgesic and anticholesterolemic. However, information still scarce regarding its phytochemical content. The objective of this study was to identify quantify the phenolic compounds from different extracts leafy stems. For purpose, effects four extracting solvents were investigated on content antioxidant activity plant. prepared with polar (methanol water) contained higher amounts showed better than apolar (hexane, dichloromethane). methanolic extract, richest total flavonoid, had significant regarded by DPPH° scavenging capacity (IC50 5.5 µg/mL), ABTS+° 63.8 µg/mL) inhibition oxidation linoleic acid 22.7 when compared synthetic antioxidants. Chlorogenic acids several flavonoids identified quantified UPLC-DAD-MSn. di-O-caffeoylquinic isomers most concentrated phenolics (25.4 mg/g DW) extract.

Characterization and quantification of flavonoids and saponins in adzuki bean (Vigna angularis L.) by HPLC–DAD–ESI–MSn analysis

BACKGROUND Bioactive activities of adzuki bean have been widely reported, however, the phytochemical information of adzuki bean is incomplete. The aim of this study was to characterize and quantify flavonoids and saponins in adzuki bean. High performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection and electro spray ionization-tandem multi-stage mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-ESI-MSn) were app...
